The petition

We, the undersigned, call on the Government of Canada to unlock plug-in balcony solar across the country.

We ask the federal government to set the foundation that lets every province move.

  • Direct CSA Group to publish a Canadian standard for plug-in solar that accepts both the European and North American certification paths
  • Amend the Canadian Electrical Code to add a simplified interconnection pathway for certified plug-in systems up to 1200W
  • Require anti-islanding protection on all certified equipment, for on-site use, with no net metering required
  • Coordinate with the provinces and territories on adoption

Canadians deserve the same cheap clean energy Europeans have had for years. Ottawa can unlock it by setting the standard and clearing the code.
